Pick ups commence around 6:40am from south Cairns, when completed you will travel by air-conditioned vehicles via one of Australia's most renowned scenic coastal roads, the World Heritage listed Captain Cook Highway. Our first stop is Port Douglas where the Starter PAK passengers will have free time to relax visit the beach or explore the cafes' and shops. Those who have purchased the Deluxe PAK option will spend their time at the Rainforest Habitat getting up close to many of Australia Native wild life like Kangaroos, Crocodiles and the Koala. Our journey continues onto the Daintree National Park where we cross the famous Daintree River via Cable ferry before heading onto the Cape Tribulation section of the Daintree National Park. We have a brief stop at the Alexandria lookout which is a perfect spot to view the Daintree Rainforest, the Daintree River and the Coral Sea merging onto one spectacular panoramic reflection. Heading off for our lunch destination your driver will explain the history of Captain Cook's tribulations while navigating in and around the Great Barrier Reef system. Choosing the Deluxe Option you will have the choice from a set menu of local caught Barramundi (fish) Steak cooked to your liking or a vegetarian option all served with chips, salad and complimented with home baked bread and a tropical fruit platter. Starter PAK passenger have the choice to bring their own lunch or purchase something simple from the Sand bar restaurant. After lunch you'll be given the option to take an unguided 30 minute walk along Cape Tribulation Beach from one end to the other, take a swim in the ocean (marine stingers are present Oct to June) or take advantage of the resort swimming pool. Moving off after 1 ½hrs at the beach you will be guided along the Marrdja Botanical boardwalk learning about the connection between the various rainforest plants, tidal creek systems and many different species of mangrove that have thrived in this unique area for thousands of years. The journey returns us to the Daintree River where we enjoy a wildlife cruise on the Daintree River, searching for crocodiles, birds and other mangrove wildlife in their natural habitat.
